Hello,
I'm checking my overclock results and noticed my TMPIN1 readings exceeding 101°C. I'm wondering if this indicates a faulty sensor. The CPU automatically reduces its speed to 1.4GHz at that temperature, which suggests thermal throttling. I also removed the side panel of the case and checked the heatsink and pipes—temperatures weren't extremely high, which makes me think the sensor might be malfunctioning. The cooler I'm using is the Hyper TX3 Evo, and I see the CPU dropping to 1.4GHz intermittently while running a 4.20GHz overclock.

Many users perform the blend test, but it doesn't fully stress the CPU threads. The SmallFFTs test is required for accurate results.

It's correct that the CPU slows down because of its high temperature. The TX3 isn't appropriate for an FX-8320; you should use a 212 EVO.

You're correct, the CPU is throttling because of its high temperature. The TX3 isn't a good fit for an FX-8320; you should use a 212 EVO. I considered that, but after running prime95 for two hours, it didn't throttle and stayed steady at 56°C.
