Attempting to boost my 9700k to 5GHz on a Z390 Aorus Ultra board. Set voltage at 1.33V with auto scaling enabled. Ran Prime95 using AVX and encountered blue screen issues. The core temperature reached 88°C. I have a Kraken X52 cooler. What should I do next?

When you push it too far, lowering the frequency to 4.9 or 4.95 results in a change smaller than 1% or 2%.

I placed the LLC on high and it appears to be functioning properly, even though my rates are quite elevated on Prime 95 with AVX enabled.

You generally stick to this process when overclocking. Check stability after each step. If it works, boost the multiplier; if not, slow it down. Verify thermal readings are within normal ranges. Adjust core voltage accordingly—keep it in the optimal range (some modern Intel CPUs handle 95-100°C safely). If temps are high, lower the voltage. If temps stay acceptable, reduce the multiplier. Make sure your LLC settings are properly configured; if not, tweak them for better performance without disabling protection. A medium or low LLC setting usually gives a cleaner voltage, so aim for 1.4V as a good starting point.

frequency has little impact on temperature, especially when the change is minor; it's mainly voltage. consider lowering it to 1.3

Prime95 isn't really worth it. My 10900K runs smoothly at 5.1GHz across all cores, stable during full load in Premiere Pro and C20, and it also handles gaming well. As long as it works with the apps and games you're using, I'm fine.

You can usually lower the running voltage by choosing medium LLC and boosting it to offset the extra VDroop. VDroop isn’t inherently bad; it’s useful for certain reasons. The temperatures are acceptable, and if stability is important or you’re not aiming for 5.1GHz, it’s best to stop trying.

I’m facing some problems. The system flags issues under its extreme high limit. Temperatures are in the low 70s. The CPU voltage reading during load is 1.26V. It’s unclear what adjustments to make at this point.
