Overclocking Ryzen 7000 series per-core guide
Hello everyone! Recently I was experimenting with overclocking my Ryzen 7 7700 and discovered something intriguing. After some testing, I realized my all-core maximum is 5250Mhz (52.50 CCX ratio). The issue is that I lose around 100MHz of single-core boost compared to the default 5350Mhz. I thought I’d check each core individually. In the BIOS there’s no setting for per-core ratios—except for PBO, which I think is problematic. With PBO, my all-core boost was around 4800Mhz even at -60°C, while running on 85C. I tried adjusting settings in Ryzen Master. The problem is that if any core runs slower than the others, the slower ones drop significantly—like, if I set the fastest core (C5) to 5350Mhz and keep the rest at 5250Mhz, all cores with 5250Mhz will drop to about 4250Mhz, while the other cores with 5350Mhz will drop to around 4200Mhz. What causes this? And how can I fix it? Thanks in advance for your help!
