Checking if you can boost a Ryzen 5950X with an NH-D15 cooler is feasible. Your CPU’s speed varies, so using a cooler helps stabilize performance. You should see improved consistency and higher sustained speeds compared to stock settings.

Give it a shot! Your cooler looks great, but you might encounter some aluminum fumes when the workload increases. I’d suggest targeting around 4400 and above. I’m not sure yet about your heat demands, though I only have a modest six-core setup so far. I’m still learning your cooling needs. I’m expecting a 5900X and hoping air cooling can help me get it running smoothly.

You might achieve a full core boost that helps steady your clock rates, though it will reduce single-thread efficiency. For a x570 dark hero board, you can push all cores beyond a specific power limit, letting you keep stock or PBO performance to avoid dropping task-specific speed. It’s conceivable your component is high quality and you’ll discover better gains by undervolting/overclocking further than usual—just test it. You could also use a third-party Ryzen Clock Tuner; it offers solid guidance toward higher speeds for demanding workloads. For reference, I’m running both 5800x and 3950x with some tuning between them. My luck with these chips was limited, but I have a solid 3300x that handles undervolting well under a cooler than its intended capacity.

Yes, it's possible. The maximum overclock is uncertain. It might be a good idea depending on your temperature tolerance. Some users find it too hot for others.

I understand you'd like it to stay cool. I'll adjust the setup to ensure better airflow.

Elevate PPT and TDC, it’s hard to believe your cooler will handle the restricted 5950X.
