Overclocking Ryzen 5950x
Overclocking Ryzen 5950x
Hey there! I'm not sure about the exact details, but I can help you find a good starting point for overclocking your 5950x. Let me know if you'd like some recommendations!
Manual OC on Ryzen often results in reduced single core/thread speed and overall performance. This powerful CPU can outperform many Intel models, so you won't need to keep optimizing it for long. With a solid memory and proper configuration, it can reach over 5GHz on the single core and nearly match other cores. It's also a very hot processor, and increasing its speed will definitely generate more heat.
Great CPU. I wish I could purchase a 5950X, but here it feels like a ghost CPU. What makes you want to upgrade your 5950X? Are you looking for some extra performance or just having fun?
Thanks, yes, I was really lucky. Mostly because of the speed advantage for gaming.

There's not much to it. First you need extra good cooling, beast runs hot but boost cut off temps are higher than earlier Ryzen.(can go to mid 80s c).
XMP/DOCP to best what is for your RAM. Making sure that FCLK matches it.
PBO/PBO2 set to maximum allowed and keep voltage in check even if that means negative voltage offset.
