Overclocking RAM in a BIOS that's stuck? Asus Scar 16 13980HX
Exploring online communities to see if it’s feasible to boost RAM speeds on a laptop I’m transporting without changing BIOS settings (the AMD model can be adjusted, but I’m sticking with the blue team for other reasons). I’ve received a set of DDR5 Kingston modules that should ideally support 5600mts at CL40. Up to now, only two options stand out: Thaiphoon Burner, which many users mention is unsuitable for DDR5, and Cam NZXT, which has numerous warnings against using it. I plan to continue researching and might test a dummy RAM kit (included with the laptop) to experiment safely. Just in case anyone has useful tips, I’ll share my findings here. I’m fully aware that laptops aren’t the best platform for overclocking, but I’m just enjoying the process. Plus, my previous attempt at boosting my CPU and GPU to 1k and 3080m/11800h on TimeSpy made me appreciate RAM tuning now.
