In general, it's not very straightforward to boost the RAM speed on a B450M motherboard to about 3200 from 2666. There are concerns about the motherboard itself, and you've experienced issues switching teams while trying to upgrade. You're also considering a Ryzen 2600 for $165, which is a big deal since memory plays a key role in CPU performance.

Overclocked RAM claiming speeds between 2666 to 3200 is unlikely. It might be possible, but very unlikely. Usually, manufacturers aim to maximize profits from their products. If it could reach 3200, they would likely advertise it at that price and sell it for more. You might reach around 2800mhz or 2933, but 3200 seems unrealistic.

I concur with bmockeg, the current pricing for RAM means that to get a 3200mhz model, you must purchase RAM specifically rated for that speed.

When the processor runs at 3200MHz, it's probable that you need to activate an AMP or XMP setting in the BIOS to achieve the correct performance.

Thank you for your prompt responses. I'm still impressed by the processor. It's not a bad deal to have a six-core chip and a decent cooler for just $165.
