Overclocking RAM ?
In my position prices are very high these days. I just discovered a Gskill Trident Z5 Neo rgb 5600 MHz CL28 and my concern is whether this RAM can be upgraded to 6000Mhz from the BIOS. CPU: Ryzen 5 9600x, Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 aorus elite. Thank you.
In my location, current prices for RAM are very high.
I think you're talking about a country—could you tell me where you're from? What is your budget for the RAM purchase? Which stores do you usually buy from?
Can this RAM be upgraded to 6000Mhz through overclocking?
You're asking if it's possible to push it beyond the standard specifications. Perhaps overclocking, but you might need more voltage than what's provided by the factory. RAM is categorized based on its manufacturing process and assembly lines; they haven't developed DDR5-6000MHz models and are instead offering DDR5-5600MHz kits. You might consider purchasing the mentioned RAM and attempt overclocking, though it will require some trial and error to achieve stability. If you have time for that, go ahead but I'd recommend choosing a ready-to-use option.

By OCing RAM you can modify the IMC (Internal Memory Controller) in the CPU, which may cause issues. The IMC in that CPU is rated for up to 5600MHz but can handle much higher speeds as well, such as 6000-6400. This means you're mainly concerned with RAM quality and its classification. You should experiment carefully, adjusting voltage gradually and monitoring stability. However, even at 6000MHz it might not be noticeable in everyday tasks, and the CAS latency is likely to increase, which could offset much of the performance gain.
