Overclocking R7 M265
Overclocking R7 M265
I want to boost my GPU in the Lenovo g510 laptop:
i3 4000m
Amd radeon r7 m265 2gb gddr3
4gb ddr3
1tb hdd
While I'm attempting overclocking with MSI afterburner, it won't work because it displays the maximum core and memory clock (I haven't tried that before).
Screens:
/what? I have 128bit bus width? In 0.7.9 ver. of GPU-Z there was 64 bit.
/I'm from Poland and I'm still learning English. Don't blame me for my bad language.
Hey there,
You already have the same GPU. Just follow these steps: press win+r, type 'regedit', press ctrl+f to search for enableulps, set it to 0, then restart. (This has triggered the overclocking limits.)
For afterburner, navigate to its installation directory, open msiafterburner.cfg, switch unofficialoverclockingmode=1, search for unofficial overclock in Eukaryotic MSI to fetch the EULA details (I'm typing from my phone).
Once done, it should work. You can keep core at 1050mhz and memory at 1170mhz.

I have the same GPU here. What should I do, just press win+r, type 'regedit', press ctrl+f type and search enableulps, set it to 0, then restart. (This has caused the overclocking restrictions to be lifted.) For afterburner, navigate to its installation folder, open msiafterburner.cfg, toggle unofficialoverclockingmode=1, search for unofficial overclock eukaryotic msi to get the EULA details (I'm typing from my phone). Then it should work. I could keep core at 1050mhz and memory at 1170mhz.
Hello man, can you let me know what voltages you set for core and memory at these frequencies?
It's not possible to do that on a laptop. At this voltage level, you can get what you can at your current capacity. If you're lucky, you can push both to their limits; otherwise, you should reduce one of them. When I push my core to the maximum of 1075, some games like Watch Dogs will occasionally quit, so I lower it to 1025 to maintain stability.
Building a desktop PC is the best way to achieve a significant overclock. If you're aiming for a high performance setup, adjusting the voltage settings can help. I don't usually run 3Dmark tests or anything similar. The main focus should be on achieving the highest possible FPS in your games. Here are some examples of changes before and after my overclock:
1. Watch Dogs: Before 26-32 After 33-37 medium-low settings with FXAA
2. Far Cry 4: Before 23-27 after 28-32 high with SMAA
3. Battlefield 4: Before 26-39 after 33-48 high with medium shadow/mesh, MSAA 2x
4. Max Payne 3: Before 22-26 after 28-32 high with MSAA 2X
What was your final result? My current stats are 1025/1170 (Core/Mem) compared to 825/900, which is about a 20% improvement.
Don't need to perform any actions in the register, just set EnableULPS to 1.
Proceed to download Sapphire Trixx from the provided link.
Open a game such as Battlefield. When inside the game, press alt+tab, launch the Trixx program, and adjust the core and memory clocks.
