Overclocking Phenom ii x6 1055t
Overclocking Phenom ii x6 1055t
I understand this CPU is a bit old, but it's important that it functions properly now. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 motherboard and an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro cooler. For RAM, I have 8GB (4x2) of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600. Since I'm new to PC builds, I'm not very experienced with overclocking. Anyone could help?
The issue is that the 1055t is a locked processor, or previously it wasn't the Black Edition. Therefore, you can only overclock the bus. Unfortunately, overclocking the bus will affect everything else, making the process more complex than with an unlocked or Black Edition CPU. For this motherboard, I don't suggest voltages higher than 1.4v on the CPU because it lacks cooling in the VRM area; otherwise, you risk damaging the board as temperatures will rise significantly with the 6-core processor.
this taught me a lot
from that discussion i learned how to bring my 1100T up to 4.0 stable, and i've been doing it for years at 3.8
still, my chip remains a solid performer, especially when pushed to higher overclocks
