overclocking on b550

my 5600x operates smoothly at around 4.63 GHz, but drops to 4.32 and the power cap falls to 76 watts when I had it at 100 watts. It was stable under higher power, but my MSI B550 pro motherboard resets it. Anyone know what’s going on?

I haven't made any changes to the BIOS yet. I'm not using any tools for overclocking at the moment, like Ryzen Master.

Adjusted Ryzen Master settings, then moved configurations to BIOS, changing the PPT TDC limits to enable higher power consumption.

I’d just give it a clean slate and move forward. It’s not something you can simply tweak by raising limits and pushing through. Those times are behind us.

I've boosted my 5600X to +150 across all cores, so it's limited to 4800MHz. I'm using 200/140/160 -25 AC since I misplaced the settings note. Uninstall RM—it's not necessary.

It's not a significant improvement—just under a 6% increase in raw speed, which won't make much of a difference unless you're pushing hard. Your 6850XT shouldn't face any major slowdowns either. It's unlikely to be the main issue at 1400p.
