Overclocking on an AM5 PC isn't working properly.
I just moved to an am5 system with these components: 7800x3d, rx 6800, 32 GB DDR5 6000, and a b650 tomahawk wifi. Since upgrading from a 5600x I’ve been experiencing slow startup times—about 62 seconds. I turned on automatic and GPU overclocking which forced a restart. After powering down, the PC failed to boot completely; all lights and peripherals remained active. I have CPU and RAM error warnings in MB. I reinserted the RAM but it didn’t resolve anything. I’m stuck—no way into Windows, so recovery mode or any software won’t work.
You observed the waiting period before the system started up. It could be longer if the device tests various BIOS configurations and thoroughly checks them, possibly requiring around 15 minutes. Consider resetting your UEFI after such a delay—either by removing the battery or pressing a button. For manual tuning, use Ryzen Master and MSI Afterburner in Windows to adjust settings, then save CPU configurations in the UEFI before rebooting. Be careful not to apply changes automatically after a restart or crash, as this might prevent access to Windows. Off topic but worth mentioning: Your rig looks great! The 1600AF still performs well.
