I recently upgraded my motherboard to an Asus Prime Z370 A and installed an Intel i7 8700K. I'm interested in overclocking but am unsure how to proceed. If possible, could someone assist me or share the settings they used for overclocking? Thank you!

It's okay to cover your CPU and GPU, but make sure to do one at a time until you're confident. Once stable, you can attempt to overclock the other.

I recently upgraded my motherboard to an Asus Prime Z370 A and installed an Intel i7 8700K. I’m interested in overclocking but don’t know the right steps. If anyone can assist or share some settings you used, it would be really helpful. You might want to check out this forum: And take your time reading through it! Overclocking is an art—don’t just try values that worked for others. Each component’s limits are different, so what works for someone else may not work for you.

I just upgraded my motherboard to an Asus Prime Z370 A and my CPU to an Intel i7 8700K. I’m planning some overclocking but don’t know how to do it properly. If anyone can help, or if you have any settings you recommend, it would be really appreciated. I’d suggest checking out this forum: Read a lot! Overclocking is an art—don’t just plug in values that might work for others. Each component’s limits are different, and you get what your parts can actually handle. Also, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do it right without causing damage, so I’d appreciate any advice to avoid that.

Overclocking is a skill and trying to apply someone else’s settings won’t guarantee success. Each component’s capabilities are different, so what works for another might not work for you. Just in case I make a mistake and damage something, I’d appreciate it if you could stay calm. If you’re confident in your overclocking skills, maybe it’s better to avoid it altogether. The goal of these tutorials is to make gradual adjustments, not rush into fixed numbers.

Clark would like to know if it's safe to shut down the CPU and GPU. He suggests trying one at a time until stable, then attempting overclocking the other. He plans to follow his advice.
