Overclocking my rig
Overclocking my rig
the details are in my sig
I chose to overclock the 4790k on my Z97-A
I switched auto tuning to manual, synced all cores to 45, set min and max to 45, turned off turbo. I’m new to Intel overclocking and found this approach effective so far. I’m using stock voltage and running AIDA64 without any throttling, staying around 75°C.
Any advice on how much more I can push this chip?
Usually increase the multiplier until the system doesn't boot or crash in Aida. Then gradually start raising the voltage a bit at a time. Once stable, increase the multiplier again. Continue this process until the temperature becomes too high for your cooling system. Make sure to stay within safe voltage limits. You might reach a voltage limit where you need to raise it significantly just to achieve an additional 100 MHz.
