Hello,
I increased my Phillips PHL 243V5 to 77hz today and found it stable, though I understand overclocking carries risks. I’m unsure if the benefits outweigh the chance of damaging my monitor, but after testing for about two hours with no issues, I’m still considering it. Would it be worth the risk?

Well, adding another 15 Hz isn't that significant, so it shouldn't appear nearly as impressive as 144 Hz. But if you're pairing two monitors with different frequencies, it might lead to some issues.

75hz offers better eye comfort, and the priority should be faster response times, with lower "ms" being preferable.

75hz feels better for the eyes, but the key is the response time—lower the "ms," that's better. I believe it reduced to about 1ms.
