Hey, can someone help me with overclocking my fx 8350 CPU on the msi 970 gaming motherboard. I have a coolermaster tx3 CPU cooler so keep that in mind. Please be specific on what exact settings to change in the bios. Thank you guys so much for helping me!

Your motherboard isn't ideal for overclocking because it uses a 6+2 power design, which affects the VRM performance. People have reported high temperatures on both the board and CPU during overclocking, especially with the cooler you use. You might only reach up to around 4.4 GHz, which is about a 10% boost if your parts are good. I haven't used your board before, but overclocking requires entering BIOS (usually by turning off the PC, pressing F2 or deleting the key), checking your manual for the correct key, and then adjusting the frequency in the advanced settings.

Your motherboard isn't the top choice for overclocking because it uses a 6+2 power delivery system, which means the VRM components aren't optimal. I've noticed complaints about high temperatures on both the board and CPU during overclocking attempts. Combined with your CPU cooler, this isn't very effective. You might be able to reach around 4.4 GHz, which would allow a modest 10% boost depending on your setup. I haven't used your board before, but for overclocking you should enter the BIOS (turn off the PC and then restart), locate the overclock settings, and adjust the CPU frequency to 4.4. Set the voltage to at least 1.35, starting with that value—you may need to increase it further depending on your luck and the quality of the components.

It's worth reading the manual or checking the boot-up menu for the correct key, as these instructions can vary.

Thank you very much. I managed to achieve a stable 4.4 at idle between 30-40 and underload from 50-65.

Thank you very much. I managed to achieve a stable 4.4 at idle 30-40 and underload 50-65. Those settings seem to work well. Sorry for my unclear explanation—I haven’t overclocked AMD in a long time and got confused about the values. Still, the video reminded me of how it should be.

Hey, I noticed it's around 35-45 idle after the stress test and gaming, and the load temps remain consistent. Is everything still okay?

I noticed it's around 35-45 idle after the stress test and gaming, right? Is that still within safe limits? The load temperatures remain the same. For an AMD FX 8350, 35-45c during idle is a bit high—my old model never exceeded 35 idle.

Should I lower my overclock to 4.3 then?
