You're experiencing a performance issue where the CPU is limiting your experience despite using a high-end GPU. By setting FPS to 60 and playing in Very High settings, you're still seeing around 50-52 FPS, which is below your target. Since you're not on Ultra mode, reducing CPU load could help. Try lowering the CPU usage slightly without locking it at 30 FPS, as that would allow smoother performance while keeping the frame rate closer to your desired level.

Odyssey demands significant processing power, even with my 9900k which ran on an 8-core/16-thread setup. You can't simply lower the game's CPU usage; the best improvements come from serious overclocking or a hardware upgrade.

The 7400 struggles in 2023, except for older models with minor exceptions. Consider moving to a 12th or 13th generation Intel platform, or a 5000/7000 series Ryzen if you prefer. The single-threaded performance issues have grown significantly over the past few generations, but your 7400 still handles multithreaded tasks in AAA games well—though it can be demanding when RT is on. For context, an i5 7400’s multithreading only matches about double the power of a single-core 13100f. The 13100f is at the bottom of the 13th generation lineup and costs around $120 USD. Comparing Intel Core i5-7400 to i3-13100F on benchmarks (cpu-monkey.com).

You can boost the graphics settings a bit more. Based on the comments, the CPU seems to be struggling under today’s demands, which explains the bottleneck. For a budget-friendly swap, consider replacing the 7400 with a used Ryzen 5600(x) and a used B3/450. The existing RAM might still work with a simple overclock, assuming two sticks are used. Running single channel is likely the main issue—adding another stick should help. What country are you in? If you’re interested in upgrading your platform, I can assist in finding used deals on the FB marketplace.
