I’ve never overclocked before and I notice there’s a game boost option in the BIOS that sets it to 4.4GHz. Can I enable that and turn it on for overclocking? Or should I use the MSI Gaming app for it as well, since I don’t want to mess with the settings manually because I’m not sure what I’m doing?
So comparing using the MSI gaming app for overclocking versus enabling the game boost feature in the BIOS, which one performs better? Also, I was just trying to overclock for the sake of it, not just to enhance performance in games. If the MSI gaming app is the most effective method, then I would prefer using that approach. Thanks.

Also, I’m curious if overclocking through the MSI app is more effective than just boosting the game in the BIOS. If the MSI app works best, I’d prefer that method.
Thanks.
I also anticipated my new 6700k would run much cooler under programs compared to my 2700k, only a slight drop of 1-2% which seems unusual.
Regarding CPU usage, it’s normal and shows the small differences between processors from certain angles.
If you’re just doing it for the sake of overclocking without any other reason, then skip the stress. Overclocking carries risks—only proceed if you truly have a solid reason.
Actually, my goal is to overclock to lower program usage, so I’m looking for the safest approach.
the msi gaming app seems to be handling things properly, don't you think? would it be more secure using the msi gaming app instead of making changes manually?

That doesn't really clarify whether the msi gaming app is safer than handling it yourself. I just want to minimize CPU usage, since some programs aren't optimized for gaming.
