Hello,
I currently own this rig: i5-6500 8GB RAM DDR3 GTX 1070.
The motherboard I’m using is the ASROCK H110M-DVS/D3.
I’m considering upgrading to a new Z motherboard with DDR4 memory since DDR3 is outdated and doesn’t support overclocking.
I think it would be sensible to upgrade for better performance in FPS games, especially if I want more frames and some milliseconds.
Would it make sense to buy a new mainboard? I know I’ll need at least 8GB RAM eventually, and since I already have 8 here, it might be worth it.

You can't increase the overclock beyond the base clock for this CPU. The CPU and motherboard only support DDR4, not DDR3.
