Hey guys, I've started diving into the overclocking world with my CPU. I'm running a Z77 ASRock Extreme4 and a H100i v2 cooler. Right now I'm at 4.4ghz @ 1.22V, with temperatures at core 1:73, core 2:79, core 3:75, core 4:75. This is from the Intel Burn Test on the max setting—any advice? Are these temps acceptable?

This test is performed at full capacity, which isn't excessively high. However, temperatures above 70°C can cause issues, especially with some CPUs near 80°C occasionally. My Intel i5-4690k is running at 4.5Ghz, reaching a maximum of around 55°C during gaming and about 60°C under full load—using the standard cooler. As long as your temps stay below 70°C during regular activities like browsing, editing, or other tasks, you should be okay.

the temperatures are acceptable. performance should be smoother during gameplay.

just a note. temps shouldn't be too much of a worry since intel cpus will always shut down or throttle before any chance of harm occurs.

Your temperatures are fine, the intel burn test is quite demanding and doesn't reflect actual use unless you perform heavy rendering; even then, with a max temperature of 79°C on the core, you're in the safe range.

I kept an eye on my temperatures throughout the day while gaming and never exceeded 55 degrees.
