I wouldn't attempt to overclock that messy combination of RAM, you're likely lucky it functions at all. Certain games might make a first-gen i3 struggle with a 1050 ti, but the majority should still run fine.

It's a solid choice. DDR4 is more expensive than DDR3 (4GB at 18€ vs 50€ for DDR4), and the Z270 + i3 K combo is the cheapest at 280€. I’ll keep the same motherboard, but I plan to replace those two RAM sticks with one 4GB 1600MHz stick. I’ll also get an X3470 and try to overclock it to 3.5-4GHz. That sounds like a good setup!

Are you attempting to push the CPU to 4GHz?
Yes, I’m doing that, but I noticed most people are capping it at 1.35-1.4GHz. I was wondering if I should keep my voltage high since the CPU runs fine at lower levels? But Dunlop told me not to. I think I’ll wait for the memory to arrive and then try overclocking, considering the variety of brands, timings, latency, and speeds.
