Overclocking help needed
I purchased a GTX 1060 with 3GB RAM and wanted to overclock it. Could someone assist me with the process?
My full specifications are: GTX 1060, Intel i7 2600K, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, and a 500W power supply.
Thank you in advance.
For GTX 1060 with tier 2 or 3 CPUs and 720p monitors, consider using EVGA precisionX and MSI afterburner. Because most 3GB models have power phase limits, setting GPU and VRAM offsets too high can affect system stability. It’s wise to prioritize cooling first—use thermal grease like Arctic MX4 and ensure proper case airflow. Generally, the GTX 1060 consumes about 120 watts. You should also determine the maximum power target before adjusting GPU and VRAM speeds, setting power as a priority and increasing by 1.5 watts gradually. Save your profile and run games or benchmarks afterward.
