Overclocking fx 8300
Overclocking fx 8300
Minor adjustments to amd overdrive can cause freezing or crashes. Slight changes in MHz often lead to black screens. I also experimented with bios settings on a video by jayz2cents for overclocking an amd, which only crashed when increasing from 200 to 220 MHz. Raising voltage together with MHz still results in crashes. What could I be doing incorrectly?
Adjust the BIOS settings only, but if you modify the FSB OC, apply changes to all other components as well, such as NB, memory, and buses. Disable all power-saving and turbo modes. Set CPU parameters manually and increase voltage if needed. Proceed gradually, monitoring temperatures and voltages at each stage while performing a stress test or benchmarks.

I achieved 4.5 ghz and completed the prime 95 test for an hour and a half with the core temperature at 68°C. Just ran it in the bios, and overdrive is really bad.
