I put in amd over drive software to boost the GPU...but it says I don’t have an AMD CPU, GPU, or laptop. Is that correct? What actions should I follow to do it right? Also, does adding more RAM improve gaming performance?

I wouldn't suggest using an OC for a laptop. They often operate at their maximum temperatures in many situations.

The issue involves a specific laptop model. Has it ever worked better? What aspects are underperforming? If speed has dropped, we need to identify the cause—sometimes expectations may be too high. Usually, with laptops, the only real upgrades are adding more RAM or switching storage types.

How can I improve my performance then??? I think my computer isn't working properly, even though it's capable. Buy a better laptop.

I own an HP notebook featuring a 2.2ghz AMD A8 7th generation processor, Radeon R5 graphics, and turbo boost reaching up to 2.5ghz. It functions well for browsing and general tasks, but gaming introduces noticeable lag—especially in titles like Far Cry and Codemasters 5. Perhaps the performance expectations were higher than anticipated, or there might be room for improvement. Are there any options to enhance its performance, such as adding more RAM?

No, you got a budget model, so it wouldn't handle current high-end titles smoothly.
