Processor: Core i7-4790K
Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 5
My old PC has Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB RAM with 4GBx2 at 2400Mhz DDR3. I upgraded to a Corsair XMS3 8GB DDR3 at 1600Mhz since none were available locally. Now all my RAM is running at 1600Mhz. If I try to overclock them to 2133Mhz, will the new RAM support that speed? What timing settings should I use for 2133Mhz? And what voltage should I apply? Also, could this risk damaging my RAM sticks or motherboard? What’s the most dangerous outcome if I go overclock too much?
