I have a friend with an old gaming pc built in a PC boutique. It's running slowly now, so I recommended checking the BIOS and pressing the overclock button if she didn't know how to do it herself. If she checks her parts first in System Information to see if there are overclockable components, pressing the button would affect them.

Alright, the most secure method is to use the manual for MB and check there.

It seems uncertain unless adjustments are implemented. Confirming the presence of an "Overclock button" requires further verification.

That's acceptable, another person also predicts this. I haven't yet; I recommended she check the bios and if she has a large overclock button, she can click it to see what it could do for her setup. However, I reconsidered since she might not have overclockable components even though it was marketed as a gaming PC. Now I've advised her to wait until she examines her system details for processor type and share that info with me.
