Overclocking beyond the offset leading to lockups in Skylake
Need assistance with your offset settings. I have my 6600k running smoothly at 4.5ghz and 1.36v. Adding a +0.001 offset works on benchmarks, but during idle use and with a less demanding game like World of Warcraft, my PC freezes completely. The screen freezes and the sound stops without a blue screen. I have to keep pressing the power button and restart, which can take anywhere from 2 minutes to several hours.
I’m unsure why this is happening and how to fix it. My system is stable at a fixed voltage, but LLC is affected. Should I lower the core voltage and increase the offset until it stops crashing? I’ve been trying for days, and it frustrates me because I want the system to downclock when not in use.
Thanks a lot!
