Hey everyone, I just boosted my CPU from 10600KF to all cores at 4.8 GHz. Now HWInfo64 shows "YES" for three limiters. I’m not sure what those names are but I’ll share a screenshot. I set the voltage to auto and it’s running at 1.224V under load, dropping to 0.6-1.1V when idle. It keeps fluctuating, but 0.6 was the lowest and 1.1 the highest. During gaming (CS2), it stayed around 1.224V. Why are these limits showing up? If I don’t fix them, could anything go wrong with the PC? Probably not too bad, but I’m new to this and don’t want to risk damaging anything. PL1 is 162W, PL2 205W. Under heavy load (R23), temp hit 73°C for VRAM, around 63°C for gaming, and 60-65°C overall.

I've noticed some 10600kf units boosted to 5.2ghz using basic 360mm AIOs, I don't think 4.8ghz is excessive.

Only two factors stand out to me. The first clarifies there are reasons involved; the next two initiate that process. You may have a maximum turbo cap set in the motherboard configuration, usually impacting only the top 100Mhz and not causing major issues. Many turbo options exist, but if you’ve already pushed it without success, you might hit a restriction. Overclocking allcore to 4.8Ghz—did you turn off the turbo controls for that core or simply adjusted the settings? This affects Intel’s power limits in the BIOS, and changes can either help or hinder depending on your board. Are you noticing slower performance compared to default settings as well?

I boosted the overclock on a B460 board, raising the ring ratio to 43 instead of the stock 42 and setting all-core voltage to 48. It caps at higher limits, so I pushed PL1 up to 170W and PL2 to 250W. Performance improved noticeably—8500 stock on R23 Cinebench now hits around 9150. I suspect these caps are due to the motherboard, as my CPU only reaches 92W during testing while expecting more. The positive results also align with high CPU vmax core stress reported in HWInfo.

Yeah well It's a b460 motherboard so it's probably just the motherboard itself imposing limits

Not possible to overclock B460 motherboards beyond Z-series chipsets.

I managed to boost ring ratio and other parameters on the CPU. I’ll share a screenshot soon to demonstrate what I can achieve—it’s modest, but some optimization is feasible.

That seems to just raise the clock speed, don't you think?

It managed to achieve at least a score of xD +600 r23, which isn't bad at all.

Hmm, seems like it might not be doing anything at all. Could have been undervolted, causing it to boost more than expected.
