Overclocking asus 970 strix?
Overclocking asus 970 strix?
Hi, I wasn't getting the expected FPS, so I decided to push my 970 to more power. I've read many overclocking guides, so I think I'm on the right track so far. The overclock is stable and maintaining good temperatures. Can I try increasing the memory clock? How can I verify if I have a consistent memory overclock? Should I switch to a different program instead of ASUS GPU Tweak, since some people say it's not recommended? Everything seems fine based on the picture you shared—what I set in GPU Tweak and what HWMonitor reported.
I performed a valley benchmark for an hour, checked for issues and observed temperatures. If the system runs smoothly without artifacts or crashes, it should be fine. Personally, I believe 3DMark pushes the GPU more intensely; my card showed artifacts in valley while it didn't in others. You might want to try it, but you'll need to buy the full version if you run a loop.

I ran the valley benchmark for an hour, checked for issues and watched temperatures. If it stays cool without artifacts or crashes, it should be fine. Personally, 3DMark seems to stress the GPU more, causing artifacts where valley didn’t. You might want to try it, but you’ll need to buy the full version.
As long as the temperatures stay low and your card doesn’t crash or produce artifacts, it should be okay. The process mainly involves testing and adjusting until you reach the right limits.
