Hi, just checking if it's feasible to overclock an i5 6600k using the ASRock H270M pro4 board. I searched online but didn't find any clear guidance. Thanks in advance.

The Gigabyte B360M HD3 is compatible only with eight and ninth generation Intel processors. The Gigabyte B250M-DS3H supports the I5-6600K but does not allow overclocking. For overclocking, there are two main paths for the I5 6600K: Z170 or Z270 motherboards. Motherboards from Z370 and Z390 will not function with the sixth generation processors such as the I5-9900K.

In reality, it's not possible to significantly boost the performance of an H series motherboard.

If you prefer the Asrock line, this model is available at a discount. It's compatible with the I5-6600K and can boost CPU performance.
