Overclocking and Under-Volt settings for AMD 5600X
Hello everyone! I’m reaching out for some advice. Many of you are likely moving to the AMD platform soon, and I’m just getting started with it. I’ve upgraded from my old 4770K and am still learning about AMD’s new features. I have a few questions: I’m trying to discover safe overclock settings so I don’t end up running Auto mode on the vCore. I’ve set my clock speed to 4.6GHz and the voltage is currently around 1.125V. On CPU-Z I see the voltage matches, but the frequency stays at 4.6GHz even when idle. Is this typical? On my 4770K I set the voltage to idle, but it would lower automatically. Can I do the same on my 5600X? A bit out of the loop since AMD has been back on the scene. Here are my specs: AMD 5600X, ASUS X570 Gaming, 32GB GDIMM, 3200Mhz H100i V2.
Ensure the balanced windows or balanced Ryzen profile is selected if Ryzen Master is installed.
It appears in Windows Power Options it stays balanced and doesn't enter low power mode. I don’t have Ryzen Master installed. Should I need it? It might be the reason. Also, I’m adjusting settings through the BIOS. The LLC is set to Level 5. Core Ratio is 46. OCCD or OCPD functions are enabled, matching the AMD XMP equivalent on Intel. So far I’ve changed these settings.
