Hi, I’m planning to use the extreme tuning tool from Intel to overclock my 9600k. Do you know if this is safe and will work at startup? I checked the BIOS but can’t adjust voltage or clock speed, so I’m worried about damaging the board. Please warn me before I risk anything. Thanks. EDIT: the software doesn’t let me change the clock speed either, so can I really alter it without a new motherboard?

Use a z370 or z390 for overclocking. If your motherboard supports OC, wait until you've reviewed the instructions thoroughly before touching anything. Avoid asking these questions and plan to spend a few hours researching properly.
