Overclocking an i5-2320
Hello everyone, I'm trying to boost my i5 2320 to around 4GHz or 3.9/3.8 without running into BSOD. I'm using a Gigabyte Z68 AP D3 motherboard. What are the best safe overclock settings, including SAFE BCLK? Warning: the Intel stock cooler is already installed. Please act fast!
You could attempt it, but I wouldn't bother. You might achieve around 3%. It would be wiser to consider selling the I5-2320 and opt for an overclockable K processor instead. For either option, spending $35 on a superior cooler like the scythe kotetsu would be sensible.

The CPU's multiplier is fixed, allowing overclocking only on frequency, while the platform can only increase frequency by about 3% before instability occurs. A K series CPU offers more flexibility with an unlocked multiplier.
