Hey, I own a big heat sink and a quiet fan that covers the motherboard, but it’s not helping because I bought it to overclock my CPU. I realized I’m not very familiar with overclocking, but I have some basic PC knowledge. Here are my current specs:
AMD FX6300 six-core processor
8GB DDR3 RAM
MSI GeForce GTX 960 graphics card
Gigabyte GA-78l MT-usb3 6.0 motherboard
850 Corsair semi-modular power supply
250GB SSD
1TB HDD
Windows 10 64-bit
I’m looking for AMD Overdrive app specifications.
Thanks,
Zazzlez

Nah, don't mess with the voltage, and see how high you can get it. If you don't mess with the voltage there's like no chance to fry anything, eventually you will crash, but it's fine, just bump it back down a little.

I see people think this a lot, every chip is different, there is no set overclock for any chip, gpu or cpu, you have to push it till it won't go any further. I can't give much advice because I have a locked cpu and haven't overclocked a cpu

It's hard to say much since I can't overclock my CPU and it's locked. I worry that adjusting settings might damage it if I push it too high to 4.0 GHz.

It's unlikely to cause a crash similar to a startup failure, but adjusting the voltage could lead to instability. If you don't manage it properly, you might face a situation akin to a system crash.
