The board lacks a robust VRU, so maintain voltages close to the standard range.
High overclocking isn't feasible, but moderate gains are achievable.
At 1.40v using the same cooler, I managed stable 4.4GHz on the FX 6300 with low temperatures.
OFC YMMV.
If your BIOS allows, disable AMD APM. Keep cool and quiet, leaving C1E and C6 enabled. These settings didn't affect our overclock.
Turn off Turbo Core completely.
Apply a slight voltage increase to the CPU base voltage, around 1.25-1.28v (not for North Bridge, but CPU Bridge).
Set the CPU vCore to 1.4.
Begin at 4.2GHz and perform a stability test lasting 30–60 minutes. If successful, increase to 4.3GHz and repeat. Then go up to 4.4GHz and continue.
Keep testing until it fails.
Prioritize temperature control and airflow. Consider adding some small forged copper heatsinks from EnzoTech for your VRUs.

:O Do you have an N68 board to power an FX chip?
Use HWmonitor—it will show you the core temperatures.
It would be best to keep them below 55°C.
I think there won’t be any VRM issues since the chip is essentially a triple-core.

Hello! This post is quite old, but I’m reaching out for assistance. I have the same specifications as before—I own the same MB and CPU. I attempted to overclock the FX6300 from 3.5GHz to 4.0-4.4GHz, but whenever I run Prime95 under stress, everything freezes or I encounter a Windows BSOD that forces a restart. I’m unsure what’s wrong. I’ve followed all the instructions in OC Tweaker within the BIOS settings, and I’m looking for guidance on which options to enable or disable.

Specifically, I’d like to know:

- Overclock mode [auto]
- CPU frequency (MHz) [200]
- PICE frequency (MHz) [100]
- Boot failure guard [enabled]
- Boot failure guard count [3]
- CPU/LED spread spectrum [enabled]
- PCIE spread spectrum [enabled]
