Overclocking AMD-8370 on 970A Caming Pro Carbon - Assistance
Hey everyone.
I’m trying to boost my processor and graphics card and I’m still getting familiar with the process. I’ve watched some tutorials and experimented before reinstalling Windows, but after running P95 stress tests and checking temperatures via the hardware monitor, the results were disappointing—my overclock was unstable and glitchy. (I even struggled to run WoW on medium settings.)
Today I’m starting with new BIOS settings, a fresh Windows installation, and both P95 and HWMonitor installed.
I encountered an issue earlier and had to reset the BIOS. My multiplier was set at 20 (4000 MHz), so I adjusted it to 20.5 to reach 4100 MHz. After restarting, the VGA light came on.
My keyboard and mouse lit up, and the screen worked until the BIOS screen appeared before going dark. I’m currently stuck.
Any advice on optimal settings or testing steps would be really helpful.
Also, the picture isn’t loading properly—here’s a link to my BIOS configuration:

I’ve disabled Turbo Core Technology for now.
There are pictures showing a game running under stress with the hardware monitor and MSI Afterburner open. I was thinking about also overclocking the Vid card, but read that's more effective after I overclock the processor.
So after reviewing more MSI Afterburner tutorials about my 960, I adjusted the settings.
Here’s a picture of my final graphics card clock readings.
I gradually increased the core voltage just enough to keep playing WoW smoothly, then lowered it again until performance dropped. I kept the memory clock at its highest setting and lowered it slightly when lag appeared.
I wasn’t adjusting the core voltage yet—can I still tweak it for better GPU/memory performance, or is this my best option with a 2GB card?
My frame rate in World of Warcraft with High-Re settings was around 98 FPS (no camera movement) and dropped to about 80 FPS when moving the screen around the least.
