I'm working on boosting my i7-7700k. The specs look like this: CPU: i7-7700K @ 4.20 GHz (boost up to 4.5GHz) [delidded] Mobo: Asus Maximus IX Extreme GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti Waterforce WB Xtreme Edition 11G RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 3600MHz - 32GB (8x4) - 16-16-16-36 PSU: Seasonic PRIME 850W Titanium Custom Cooling x2 radiators (520x30x60mm) + 8 fans Noctua pump EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 At the moment these seem to be the two stable setups. The CPU runs at 4.9GHz, Vcore is around 1.375V in BIOS, and XMP is enabled for DDR4 at 3600MHz. I'm using a 5GHz configuration but with XMP off or iGPU disabled. Performance is decent, but under stress it dips to 5.1GHz occasionally. Now I'm attempting custom core voltages: CPU cores 0 and 1 at 51%, 2 and 3 at 50%, and a higher Vcore of 1.405V in BIOS. The system passed an OCCT test with AVX2 at 5.0GHz for one hour, but when I tried to measure under stress, all cores stuck at 5.0GHz, never reaching 5.1GHz. The HWiNFO readings fluctuate wildly between 5.0 and 5.1GHz. Why does the clock keep jumping like this? I expected a stable 5.1GHz across all cores, but it's inconsistent. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

It seems either Coffee Lake S (8th generation) or Skylake X (7xxxX) will be the first to define specific core limits. Kaby Lake S (7th generation) definitely won’t, so "CPU core X ratio" means the count of cores rather than a particular one.

Yes, setting Core 0 ratio to x51 indicates the system will allow only one core to operate at that specific location.
