Overclocking a RAM module.
Overclocking a RAM module.
Hello, I'm setting up my first PC and recently purchased a G. Skill Trident Z RGB 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 memory. I'm wondering if this amount is sufficient for my setup. I've been told that the timings are slow for overclocking, with CL 16-18-18-38, and I'm running an i9 9900K RTX 2080 Ti. I'm concerned this might be a mistake and that I've ended up with slower RAM than intended.
Could there be a chance this RAM might fail completely and turn into a B-DIE since there’s no information available?
It won’t transform into Samsung’s demise—it just appears from the box. Laughing at the jokes, though, it might be a sign of trouble. The real clue lies in testing the chip directly.
From what I know, the trident z is often linked to Samsung, which explains the higher cost. You don’t have to be concerned about that.
