Hey everyone, I was curious about getting a K series processor and a H series motherboard. Can I overclock the CPU? If not, are there other motherboards besides Z series ones that allow me to overclock the CPU? Thanks!

no. intel offers options so if you aim to boost your k series cpu, you'll need to invest in a z97 series board; only the g3258 can be overclocked on h series boards.

Intel offers premium options for overclocking K series CPUs, requiring a Z97 series board; only the G3258 supports overclocking on H series boards. Would you like suggestions for affordable Z97 motherboards?

intel's offerings are quite expensive if you aim to overclock your K series CPU, you'll need a Z97 series board and a premium price. Only the G3258 supports overclocking on H series boards.
Do you have a recommendation for a budget-friendly Z97 motherboard?

Intel offers options if you wish to overclock your K series CPU, but you'll need a Z97 series board and a Z97 chipset. The G3258 is the only model that supports overclocking on H series boards. You can find recommendations here: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97pcmate. Regarding the 4690k with MSI Z97 Gaming 5 MBO, it should work well for gaming.

Do you have any idea which Z97 motherboard is a good choice at a reasonable price?

Help ..... I already faced an issue. The first time I started my PC; I was using a 15 inch monitor just for testing. So my BIOS also adjusted to that screen size. But now when I use it with a 22 inch HD monitor, the BIOS screen doesn<|pad|>. It still shows as it did on my old monitor. It looks quite poor every time I turn on my PC, like a windowed BIOS which is really bad. So how can I fix it? Should I remove the battery from the motherboard for a few seconds to reset it so it can adapt to my current display resolution? I really need your advice now.... Please help!!!

no. intel have made it so if you wish to boost your K series CPU, you’ll need to spend extra for a Z97 series board; you’ll also require a Z97 motherboard to do it. Only the G3258 model supports overclocking on H series boards.
Could you recommend a decent Z97 motherboard at a lower price?

Thanks, but I just purchased a 4690k with an MSI Z97 gaming 5 M. So, is it suitable for gaming?

Yes, I’m using a GPU, GT 430, but I hope to get a Z970 on the 24th. How can I reset the CMOS without damaging anything? Also, I already have a 1.9 BIOS.
