Overclocking a Geforce 1080Ti
Overclocking a Geforce 1080Ti
Checking if it's acceptable to overclock your GPU is a valid concern. The 1080Ti should handle most games well, especially with better frame rates. Overclocking can be fine if it improves performance, but it might not always be safe or recommended. Consider the risks and benefits before proceeding.
As long as you have enough cooling, I'd recommend proceeding. With a 1080ti, you really don't need to worry about it. It's a very capable GPU. But if you're up for a challenge, go ahead and try it! Just adjust gradually until you reach the stable maximum OC.

Unless you have funds available, why enhance something that already runs smoothly? Unless you're nearing 4k and still unsatisfied with its performance. I'd consider other options, such as checking your CPU and RAM speeds to identify any bottlenecks you might have.
