I don’t think anyone will advise you against overclocking, but we’re going to guide you through the process.
Start by measuring your current temperature during normal operation and under load. This will help you understand the limits.
What’s the room temperature? What cooling solutions are in place? Which motherboard and power supply do you use?
Generally, raise your multiplier incrementally—possibly turning off sleep modes and adjusting speed steps—and continue stress-testing.
If you encounter BSODs or other issues, slightly boost your voltage until stability returns.
After that, increase the multiplier a bit more, repeat the process until you reach safe operating conditions without further problems.

I'm sure no one here is going to advise you against overclocking, but we're going to guide you through the process.
First, establish a reference temperature by performing a stress test and keeping an eye on your temps while running at normal speeds. This will help you understand the limits.
What's the room temperature? What cooling solutions are in place? Which motherboard, power supply, and case do you use?
In general, gradually raise your multiplier (likely turning off sleep states and speed steps) and continue stress-testing. If you encounter BSODs or other issues, slightly boost your voltage until stability returns. Once stable, increase the multiplier a bit more, repeat the process, and stop when you reach unsafe temperatures or lack of headroom for further increases.
The exact method will depend on many factors beyond just the CPU.
The motherboard, cooler, and power supply also significantly influence the outcome.

How to boost the performance of an I7 5820K? Here’s the advice you need.
Barty1884 shared useful insights: every processor behaves uniquely. Proceed with caution, go gradually, and understand the specific characteristics of your unit.
