Overclocking a 1090T
My system specifications are as follows: CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1090T, MOBO MSI 970A-G46, RAM Corsair XMS3 1600mhz CL9, CPU cooler Scythe Mugen 4, GPU Sapphire HD 7950 Dual-X 3GB. I recently changed my CPU from a X4 965 BE @3.8ghz to a new model at 3.8ghz, but it caused an immediate red screen. Now I’m using 3.6ghz and it seems stable. Only the multiplier was adjusted.
How can I achieve a stable 3.8 or even 4.0 performance?
I’ve been playing a lot of Ark: Survival Evolved since this upgrade, but I noticed some input lag and slightly lower in-game FPS. The numbers didn’t improve and actually got worse. Do you know any way to get more consistent FPS so the game runs as smoothly as possible on my other Phenom? All in all, my PC doesn’t seem to handle Ark: Survival Evolved as well as it does with my other CPU.
Sorry for the delayed reply, I managed to fix it now. For some reason, my BIOS configured the PCIe in a different mode, which resolved the issue. Also, I observed that during gameplay, my CPU was running at around 3 GHz. When I increased the priority to high or realtime, the CPU performed significantly better and everything ran much smoother.
