My search abilities seem limited. I'm looking for a guide on overclocking my 7700x. A link would be helpful. I want to understand how the PPT TDC EDC values are determined and what PBO modes like pbo1, pbo2, etc., do. I haven't adjusted any CPU settings since Haswell—just 3 voltages, turbo, and uncore multiplier, before that was Phenom II:1 voltage with a 1 multiplier, and before that used the pencil trick. All that experience doesn't apply to the new Ryzen models.

I believe PBO is the best approach. Performing a manual overclock usually means giving up some single-core performance in favor of better multicore results. Keep an eye on temperatures and clock speeds.

It depends on your specific goals—what you're aiming to achieve.
For gaming, PBO tends to be the top choice.
My main focus is Handbrake, which makes good use of all cores on my 5950x. An all-core overclock generally performs better than PBO for this task.
