I'm running a 4.7Ghz setup for regular use, consistently staying below 75°C in a 23°C room. This seems to be my optimal point. I experienced 85°C at 1.46V and decided against it, as it doesn't offer much benefit over 4.9Ghz except for bragging. Most users stick to 1.35V or lower for daily tasks.
My tests on unstable 4.9Ghz at 1.425V showed stability only after reaching 1.46V, which is higher than ideal.

It's tough to say with certainty, but most i7-6700k models can hit 4.5Ghz without issues. Reaching 4.8Ghz and higher was common in the past. Checking via CPU ID works well, allowing for unstable overclocking while still passing validation. I've confirmed stability at 4.9Ghz with 1.4V, though it failed Realbench. I'm aware that 1.285V is quite low—my 6600k needed about 1.375V to reach 4.5GHz...

I'm using a Corsair H110i on my rig. At around 4.6 OC, I'm running about 1.23v with temps staying below 54°C. I've managed higher overclocks reaching 5.0, but those times were hotter—78 to 82°C under load. It's fine for gaming, but for everyday use I'd prefer cooler runs. Adam
