It really depends on the CPU model. If it can't handle -30, you need to increase it until it stabilizes. I set it to -25 across all cores and use high power to boost performance. Once PBO is enabled, cores tend to push more; entering a negative offset makes them want to push even higher, so balance with PPT/TDC/EDC. As you go further up the scale, they resist pushing more. Avoid touching Vcore—it distorts the voltage curve anyway. Edit: With my 5900X, power specs seem low, so aim higher. Locate the FIT voltage and determine the CPU's maximum draw, then set your limits accordingly.

Note: This only covers the lower range; further tuning is needed for peak performance.

wouldn't adjusting the settings to "motherboard max" provide those numbers? That's why I saw Ryzen Master appear before I calculated everything. Sure, HWInfo shows similar details but with lots of extra data. Just wondering where you're going with this—even if my motherboard can't handle 500 ppt, choosing a stable value makes sense. Yeah, I'm starting to understand that it'll take time, and I've got plenty of it. Unless something unexpected happens.

Uncertain about the maximum power rating. I've noticed my 5900X can handle over 300W for PPT, but it restarts around 105-110°C.

talking about it, I achieved my top R23 results using an Auto TPU II OC via BIOS. I mentioned it before, but man, my CPU hit 112 before I decided to stop recording out of fear

I remember having a 5900x and boosting it to around 5.2 with all cores, getting steady at about 83°C under load. I don’t have my score saved because I wasn’t as careful with taking screenshots or jotting notes. It seems like I just kept entering numbers and if it didn’t post, I’d clear the CMOS. Not the ideal method, but eventually I figured it out. Now I’ve got a new unit and returned the old one, though I’m pretty happy with my result compared to yours since you did it manually. Still puzzled about how TPU II OC manages such a big performance boost without heating up so much—it’s a big reason I want to learn more. Maybe I’m just trying to tweak settings to lower temps and boost throughput overall. I’ve noticed that even at 5GHz I’m not as effective as someone with 4.6–4.8, which is making me curious about the settings.

yeah and to make matters more confusing, i get different bios settings each time i do a TPU II OC. sometimes my mobo will say 23% OC, best i got was 29%. fiddled with some settings and managed 31%, lost stability after that. noticed it would change my BCLK from 100.00 to 101.00, heck on 29% it was at 103.something. BUT i have noticed if i go above 100 (with pbo that is) my hard drives dont show up, consistantly. i got 8x samsung evo's (SSD) on 3 diff RAID setups plus my 2 nvme's on RAID 1. best case situation with >100 BCLK itll pull up ONE of my nvme's and idk how many SSD's, whatever RAID setup i have using 3tb, that shows up after POST. and yes i tried in bios to "refresh" the drives or whatever its called, no go. ugh, dont even ask why i did various raids. obviously they were setup initially with a purpose\intention in mind but that went out the window over time. biggest deal for me is "losing" my games array. those be on raid 0 cause idgaf if i lose the game data, i just wanted stuff to load faster. now my games are spread all over the place, its a mess my nvmes are on raid 1 cause samsung broke my heart when they had that whole 980 issue - lost all my f*ing data. sincerely appreciate how they never released a press release stating "hey, if u got these drives made in X year out of X country use this app to update the firmware or youll INEVITABLY lose all your stuff" love samsung but man, they did me and a lot of ppl wrong. my kid is 17 now, ill never get them baby pictures back. then i found a server for a steal on craigslist and its now my cold storage device among other uses anywho, curious what youd get on a TPU II auto OC by comparison
