Gonna tweak these specs a bit. Here’s what I’ve got: 4x 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (docp 18cl@3600, don’t overclock unless you want it). ASUS Crosshair VIII / WiFi 5950X 4090 (still not OC’d). Way too much water cooling—like it could work. Custom block for the crosshair, strix 4090 style, moving on... I’ve been working on CPU overclocks for weeks. Knowledge beats luck. There’s also a post about Ohm’s Law that helped me figure out ideal values. I tried math-based settings—started with 217/147/240 for CTDP, then 257 for PLL. With stock CPU around 200W, it fits. But why do forums show wild numbers? Some people set PPT way high and get unstable. My CPU is at -7 on CCD0 and -12 on CCD1 (0-7 and 8-15°C per core). I’m pushing throttle fast on R23 and hitting limits. Why not -20 or -10? Still unsure if my numbers are right.
Anyone know why people set PPT values way up but can’t go lower? My OC results are solid—around 25572 at 90-91°C, best I’ve seen. Auto OC gives me ~100.9°C with 27500 on R23, but I’m still stable at 58-61°C TL;DR.

Your feedback was quite unclear... but essentially you’re upset about slower speeds despite believing the hardware can handle more power. It seems like you’re expecting higher limits than what’s actually supported. I don’t think that’s possible. You’ll need to increase the thermal design parameters if you want better performance. That’s the current situation.
The idea is unclear because I’m not fully grasping the concept. Giving unlimited power actually increases heat, which isn’t ideal. We usually adjust negative values instead of positive ones to avoid issues. Still, it’s confusing why I get better results on R23 and lower temperatures with auto OC compared to trying other methods.
What exactly are you referring to? Voltage shift, clock delay? It seems unclear not just because you’re missing the context, but since you think we’re right beside your BIOS and seeing all the changes you made while pointing at each one as you type. We can’t really assist if we don’t grasp what’s happening. Still, for AM4 it makes more sense to concentrate on manual overclocking. Define a goal frequency, set a target voltage, confirm you’re hitting those numbers, then evaluate performance. PBO overclock is something better suited for AM5.

actually i was just using ryzen master only for monitoring during stress tests. hwinfo gives similar data but ryzen master highlights the most important info at the top in those circles. i don’t know how else to put it. when i ran a stress test, i kept track of many values in my notepad. should the pc crash, show a BSOD, or shut down, the big circles are way more obvious compared to a spreadsheet (hwinfo). everything was handled through the bios—probably restarted the system hundreds of times. ryzen master is just another monitoring tool, nothing more. oh, and i got around 26000 to 26300 in r23 today. that wouldn’t count as a solid score since it was a fresh boot and the water temp hadn’t adjusted yet.
Too lenient with it. Give it more strength, reduce reliance on Ryzen Master.
