Overclocking 5 3600
Overclocking 5 3600
Hi everyone,
I attempted to overclock my CPU. I adjusted the AI overclock tuner to manual mode, set the CPU Core ratio to 42.00 for a target of 4200 Mhz, configured VDDCR CPU at 1.35V and VDDCR SOC at 1.15V with everything else in auto. The system booted successfully, but my motherboard displays an OC (0c) Q-Code.
Ai Suite 3 reports the CPU at 4200 Mhz and the core voltage at 1.336 V. However, Core Temp shows a VID of around 1.10 V. The temperatures are stable at about 30-40°C when idle.
What went wrong? Why is the motherboard showing OC Q-Code?
My specifications:
5 3600
ROG x570 E-Gaming
RTX 2080
32 GB DDR4 at 3200
Deepcool Castle 360 RGB
Thanks
Reset the BIOS to the default settings, then turn on Precision Boost Overdrive and the auto OC function, and that's it.
You're not getting much value from manually adjusting the OC for this Ryzen 3000. These processors are designed to handle things automatically.
Just ensure the CPU stays cool, and it will manage the boost as required.
All functions will operate automatically, and PBO will handle everything.
So yes, I followed your instructions and it functioned well. I was even able to achieve a score of 4.22 using PBO.
Thank you very much.
Only if it's hot enough and it gets warmer it will lower the frequency.
