Hi all,
I increased my i5-4690k to 4,6ghz at 1.256v. After running intelburntest ten times at very high speeds, the maximum temperature I see is 84 degrees. I'm using a Noctua NH-D14 cooler. Is this okay? When I play Battlefield 1 with 64 players, my CPU usage stays between 90-100% and never goes above 60 degrees.
Thanks!

I increased my i5-4690k to 4.6ghz at 1.256v. When I run intelburntest ten times at very high speeds, the maximum temperature I get is 84 degrees. I'm using a Noctua NH-D14 cooler. Is that okay? When I play Battlefield 1 with 64 players, my CPU usage is 90-100% and it never goes above 60 degrees.

Yes, as long as you did it at high settings it's fine. Intel Burn Test makes your CPU work hard.
Tasks like gaming or rendering probably won't heat the processor much. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the temperatures just in case.

Tom 1993 shared his experience with overclocking and cooling, noting acceptable temperatures under high settings while gaming. He also mentioned adjusting clock speeds for better thermal management.

Yes, as long as you did it at high settings it's fine. Intel Burn Test puts a lot of stress on the CPU.
Tasks such as gaming or rendering probably won't heat it much. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the temperatures just in case.
I also downclocked to 4.5ghz because I don't think 4.6 is necessary. If I'm running at 1.256v, should I reduce it a bit as well, or does it really matter?
1.256v seems acceptable; a 100 MHz reduction doesn't seem to cause any issues.
