overclocking 10850k
overclocking 10850k
I've got an Intel 10850K with an ASUS TUF Z490 Plus motherboard. After using Intel Extreme Tuning, I achieved stable 5.3 GHz across all cores. Are there any differences when overclocking with Intel software versus BIOS? I'm just starting out with this process.
They claim it's better to overclock via BIOS than using a software tool. I'm not sure if that's true, but probably because saving a faulty overclocked setup in software can make it tough to boot normally if the system keeps crashing at startup while loading the program. Clearing the CMOS is quicker. Just keep in mind, this might not be accurate—take it with a grain of caution.
