I don't get it either. I've completed stability tests at 1200 mhz on the core and 1500 mhz on the memory, and it passes the heaven benchmark, as well as furmark and performance tests. However, it's completely failing in GTA, so I'm forced to use the stock speeds to avoid crashes. Could you have some ideas? I'm really confused.

And regarding the stock speeds for 1120 and 1400 during GTA, it won't provide smooth gameplay even at standard settings.

Stress tests aren't identical to games. You need to evaluate the games as well. To truly enjoy playing and owning GTA 5, reset your overclock and increase it with the gta benchmark. Personally, my overclock breaks after roughly 20 minutes of stress testing, but I can run planetside 2 for hours at ultra speed instead of medium with the same FPS. The results vary depending on the games you choose, since stress tests focus on pushing hardware limits while games test different system components.

I understand your concerns. You can also stress test using the in-game benchmark. I recently played Heaven for two hours, Furmark for about 20 minutes, and ran a Performance test 8 with Very long mode and 3DMark basic. It was a bit excessive. I plan to run the GTA benchmark and see if it holds up. If it works for an hour, would you consider it stable? Also, what if it crashes or shows a graphics error during online play?

Do you think using CCC's vsync for GTA is a good idea?

As far as I understand, stress testing can be done with in-game benchmarks (though I don’t own GTA 5). I’m also unfamiliar with GTA 5 vsync. If you truly wish to play the game, consider lowering your resolution to 720p—it should ease the load on your GPU.

I can’t provide advice on online gameplay FPS or similar topics since I only see system requirements, which don’t reflect real performance.

My advice is: start with the default settings at 720p. If that works, you can gradually move toward overclocking. However, if your overclocking consistently fails the benchmarks, it might point to a driver problem. Make sure you have the latest GPU drivers installed and that GTA 5 is up to date.

If you try overclocking again using in-game metrics, but it still doesn’t work, you may need to stick with lower resolutions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the update. I'm still struggling to figure out why my GPU is at 1200 / 1500 but still manages benchmarks smoothly... And at 1140 / 1440 it crashes during GTA? Something’s definitely off. I’ve got the newest drivers installed and tried many others, but they all show the same issue. Would a BIOS update or a fresh Windows 7 install help? I’m really frustrated with this problem.

No, I don't believe a new installation would help. Which country are you located in? Have you attempted to connect to another server (perhaps the issue isn't with your device)? What antivirus software are you using (some of these programs dislike online games)? Are you connected to a private network (such as at school or work, where certain sites are blocked, including most game servers)? Does the game have authorization to access your network?
